Chuck Laegeler obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Illinois Springfield and his Juris Doctorate from Charlotte School of Law. After graduating law school, Chuck and his wife, Erin Wilson Laegeler, moved back to rural Schuyler County where Erin's family has deep roots. After obtaining experience at larger law firms, Chuck opened his own firm in Rushville, Laegeler Law PLLC. Laegeler Law represents several nearby municipalities and provides both civil and criminal representation to individuals.

Chuck is an attorney who cares. He cares about those he represents as well as the community. An active citizen of the Rushville area, Chuck currently sits on the board for the United Way of Schuyler County. He also formerly served as Treasurer of the Rushville Rocket Booster Club and Governor of the Rushville Moose Lodge. This record of service will serve him well as Schuyler County State's Attorney.

Chuck’s drive and integrity are demonstrated through his tireless efforts in practicing his trade. Committed to finding practical and advantageous solutions, Chuck makes his duty to those he represents a top priority.

Outside the office, Chuck is an avid sportsman. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing golf, though he’s still working on perfecting that backswing. In college, he played competitive squash and laments the scarcity of racquetball/squash courts in the immediate vicinity. In the world of professional sports, he is a top fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Cubs.

"At the end of the day this position is about the people of Schuyler County. Far too often the State’s Attorney is viewed solely as the individual who is there to punish the guilty. While that is  part of the job, the job is also about service.

We currently face many issues at the local, state, and national levels. I vow to be a strong supporter and a loud voice for this community. I will not allow our citizens to be bullied. Instead, we will work together to find common sense solutions to the problems we face."
